Just retrieved the build sheet out of my recently acquired 69 GS400. Box 27 on the sheet (engine) shows a 2 digit code of "PD". Now, isn't that a code for a 430? I thought this box should say "RR" or "RS"(if Stage 1). Can somebody help me? Thanks, Rick
Hi Rick - It's a completely different set of codes used on the build sheets. Contact Duane Heckman of (Classic Car Interiors). He offers a decoding service, but I don't know if he has information on 1969 models. He'll know, or someone else here will :TU:
I'll assume you're talking about the sheet on the gas tank? He does 1969 'A' bodies. Here is the information.
Rick, "PD" stands for a GS400 (non-stage 1) with automatic transmission and air conditioning. This is the manufacturing code. The engine prefix code would be "RR". If you want your buildsheet decoded I now do them for all 68-72 Skylark/GS cars. The amount of info on these sheets is amazing, they list all the parts needed to build your car. If you don't want it decoded I wouldn't mind having a copy for my records. Every buildsheet I get for reference is appreciated. Duane
