My son and I just finished building a Buick GSX together!!!! Too bad it was just a 1:18 scale car and I did most of it myself but it was fun. First time building models for me in 25 years. It was Brad Connelly's Ertl BodyShop 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 Prototype. It went together pretty easily with no painting necessary. I can see where more detail work would be needed but my son was impatient. Only problem I had was the steering hold down, my fat little finger don't really fit in a small place like that but all in all it went together fairly smoothly. And of course my son wanted to play with it right away.....

Father & Son project! Cool. The picture is neat too...you can almost hear, "Do you want fries with that?" coming from the drive-thru speaker!

I told my son we build'em to drive....... He was all for that....... :3gears:

Anyway...2 days of hard driving and only 1 broken mirror, not bad for a 7 year old.

My wife actually picked up the car at a K&R toy store at Parmatown mall....$15......can't beat that....... :Do No:

Brian, nice job on that for sale sea mist green stage 1 car .....living in the rust belt, i've seen a lot worse...... It looked sweet. You're very talented. I hope to keep my son interested enough to do things on his own.....

Thanks for the encouragement.......let's build some more

I have a similar photo with my daughter when she was about 5 playing with Matchbox cars and a little town layout. Brings back memories. Now she's 23. :eek2:
Cool photo though. It'll be a good memory
