Last Sunday(1-2-3), I got a call from my brother. He said that Buford was getting ready to go for a swim.:eek2: He told me that the basement storage where my parts and cars are stored and where he keeps his Chevy parts had "a little water running through on the floor. "No big deal", he said. "I got a hold of the utilities and they're shutting off the water to where it's leaking." (property next door....or so it was thought) Wednesday night I am stuffing my face with Valentino's pizza (other E. Nebraskan's will testify), brother calls and says you'd better put the pizza on a plate and go get your car out.
Turns out the water wasn't coming from the suspected property, so the water flowed, and flowed. When I got to the basement, I looked down the ramp and saw a reflection of my car in the water.:Do No: Two good things happened that night: The car started, and it didn't even spin coming up the ramp or on the ramps of the trailer. My bucket seats, however, were able to relocate about 10' thanks to a slow moving current. Other parts also were relocated, but will just have to spend time cleaning.
Thursday, we watched the utility dept. pump out water and say that they weren't responsible because the main was in front of our property. Truth is, the main broke 10' south of our prop. line and it was the main for a business across the street. Anyway parts will dry and insurance company will settle. (The city's insurance co. adjuster is actually being very nice about the whole thing. Glad somebody can laugh.:stmad:

My neighbor does that with his 72 H/O convertible. He had to widen the sliding glass doors in the back of his walkout, but it works very well. Keeps the car nice and neat!

It's a basement underneath some businesses in my hometown. It really cool and dry. Or at least it used to be:(. Todd Borland can testify to the oddness of the place.
