Wow, I have a 1965 Observer's Book of Automobiles too. They have specs on the '65 Electra 225 2-door hardtop. Not the exact model you wanted but I suspect the figures will be similar if not the same.

    Length: 18ft, 6 9/10 in.
    Wheelbase: 6ft, 8 in.

No data on transmissions but the engines are quoted as 410ci standard, 425ci optional.

    Hope this helps a little.

Standard Engine Wildcat 445 401 with single 4 bbl carb. 80,016 built
Standard transmission Super Turbine 400 (3 speed automatic with variable pitch stator)
    Standard rear end ratio 3.07:1.

This is the same for all Electras for '65. Information from '65 Buick Features and Facts book.

Optional engine: Wildcat 465 =425 cid with single 4bbl -6174 built
optional engine Super Wildcat =425 cid with dual 4 bbl carbs. -617 built

    Any more questions?

ok well i know one of my electras has a 401 in it and my other one im not sure it has 445 stamped on the air cleaner so im assuming thats a 425? and they both have the 400 tranny?

Standard Engine Wildcat 445 is a 401 with single 4 bbl carb
445 is the torque rating, thats how they named the engines.
465 is the torque rating for the 425 cid engines.

For the transmission,Buick used the Dual Path Super Turbine. That transmission was the early version of the Turbo 400.
