I am trying to identify this posi unit. I removed it from a 1969 Buick Riviera and it originally had 2.93 gears. I was told it is a Buick 9 3/8. It is an Eaton unit (ED-32120), has 12 bolt Ring Gear and looks to be a 2-series.

    Thank you

    Welcome aboard!

If the rear end under the car is original, it is indeed the 9-3/8" 12 bolt. Carriers & gearsets are common between '67-'70 Wildcat, Electra and Riviera. More info here:

Thank you for the response and the link.

So it looks like this posi unit will take 3.23 and numerically lower gears. Does anybody know how much these units are worth?

I've seen the 2 series posi carriers (if you can call them that) alone going for $200+ while the three series posis for 3.42:1 & up going at $300+, and I've seen 3.42:1 healthy gears w/posi carrier together for $500+. Condition of course is a factor. One of our members (Jim a.k.a. "monzaz") has figured out how to use later model frictions since no original replacements are available.

Hope that helps too, just one person's input.
