Can someone tell me if all 14 inch Buick ralley wheels are the 5 x 4 3/4 lug spacing? Were 14 inch ralleys used on larger bBuicks that used the 5 x 5 inch lug pattern? thank you for your help. I know the correct way to tell is using a wheel pattern ring but just wondering.
The big Buicks used the road wheels, a little different than the ralley's...the Riv's did anyway I think the other big girls did too...
Thanks, I went to buy a set a guy had on Craigslist and I didn't have my little plastic ring I use to check wheel patterns with me. I had to go right after work. I bought a set from a guy for $150. I measured them with a ruler and they seemed right. I tried to attach the picture of one here, Not sure if I did or not, , Any way I bought them and checked them when I got home, they are14 inch 5 x 4 3/4. Even had the center caps. They are going to look great on my Skylark. Edit: I see the picture came through. Are there any numbers on these to say what they are? Are most of these 6 inches wide or are they 7 inches wide. I have 2 15 x 7 Buick ralley rims and the numbers are inside of the wheel and can not be seen when a tire is mounted.
I had the full-size wheels on my Riviera, but had to ditch them when I updated the front wheels to 2-piston disc brakes on 12-inch rotors. There was not enough clearance. I went to 15x7 Cragar Keystone Classics.
If that is a question - o No: GS wheels have a smaller 4 3/4" bolt pattern, while the full size Electra has a 5" bolt pattern, so they will not fit. :TU:
So are all 14 inch Buick ralleys 6 inches wide? These have the tires on them and I assume the numbers to check are inside the rim covered by the tire. I picked up a couple of nice 15 inch ralleys earlier and could see the numbers on those. Maybe I will put the 2 15 inch in the back and 2 14 inch rims on the front. Any one done that? What is holding the center caps in place? Just clips? How to remove the caps? Thanks guys.
The 15" 5x5" chrome plated wheels, optional on all full size Buiks, are also referred to as ralley wheels, but they are different than the optional 14"-15" 5x4 3/4" ralley wheels used on the GS and Skylarks. :TU:
I want to say that the 14" rally wheels only came in 14" X 6". I had a set on the '74 Apollo in my sig. I believe the 15" rally wheels came in both 6" and 7" widths, with the 7" width being harder to find and more expensive due to demand.
Can somebody post a picture of the Road Wheel and the Rally Wheel to compare? I am looking for a set for my 64 Lesabre and would like to see which I like better. The wheels in this black and white picture look like a reverse wheel. I would love those! Check out this 64 Lesabre Kustom. I want those wheels. This is the look Im going for.
I have a print out from the Buick Bugle from august 2002 with all the info on Buick 14 inch Rallys and the 15 inch road wheels that I have on pdf file. If you want a copy emailed. Send me a pm with your email and I would be happy to share the info. I have 66-70 Road wheels on my 64 Cat and for a 64 because of hub size, you need a 3/16th spacer apox. to clear the hub.
