Was going through some parts collected over the years and found a certified speedo cluster that I removed from a '79 LeSabre in a local yard several years ago. I forgot that I even had it. Then remembered that I removed some parts from a from a 1980 LeSabre Police package equipped 4dr. I grabbed the speedo out of that one,too. Registers 115 instead of 85mph. The '79 speedo has a silver finish and registers 115mph. The speedo from the '80 has a black finish. Both cars had Buick 350 4bbl engines w/TH 400 transmissions.Both were equipped with Regal style bucket seats and rubber floormats. The '79 was an ugly metallic green with no chrome.The '80 was gold with saddle inside. I have never run seen one again.They must be very rare.Anyone have more info on these intigueing cars?
This is very interesting! There were odrer sheets posted on the BCA forum (I think) for early seventies LeSabres with the police cruiser package. I'll try to search the posts.
