Anybody know about any Marine versions, or marine parts (exhaust manifolds, etc) for Buick engines?

Specifically, the 350 (or 400-430-455), I already know about the GreyMarine Nailheads.

Just wondering, I'll have a "spare" 350 after the 455 goes into the LeSabre, and our '62 Chris-Craft's 283 Ch*vy needs rebuilding...would be nice to have a 350 Buick-powered skiboat!!!

I know the 455 is used all the time. My Uncle has have several of the fastest boats on Lake Erie and they were all Buick powered.

Bum just bought 3 marinas on the Maumee river. Has yet to offer me a cushiony job for hi pay n little work. Or even hi work for little pay.

I know the old 300 as well as the V6 and 401 were used extensively in the 60's marine applications but don't that 350s and 455 were....other than custom.

    Gumby,

Any idea where the Buick exhaust manifolds, water pumps, etc, came from?

I know there are a lot of Olds 455s in boats, but never noticed a Buick. Seems the Buick torque-monsters would be perfect for marine use...

    Swamp boats?

I thought I recall reading somewhere that the folks down in Florida like to use 455's on those big "air boats" with the big fans on them for traversing swamps.:Do No:

Some marine stuff is out there. I know most big power marine engines have to run Inconel exhaust valves and Severe Duty intakes due to the water that is injected into the exhaust for cooling and to a lesser extent, sound suppresssion.

If you're running an open engine compartment you can get away with single wall water injected headers, closed compartments require dual wall set ups. I thought I recall Bassett making custom headers for just about anything, http://www.bassettracing.com/. Custom Marine Inc. also, but you'll pay a fortune :pp

You can also check with Drew Marine, They're in Spokane, Washington, (509) 535-3393. They do a lot of custom rigging putting big Ford motors where normally a Chevy is mated to a Mercruiser, they might help with some info.

I have no idea. All his boats were custome build 1-5 type boats.
If you have money to spend any part can be made.
