I have on good authority a 455 with date casting of May 1969. This engine came out of Buick Engineering. It has all the internal stage 1 parts. There are no numbers except casting numbers on this engine. I’ve seen other parts come out of Buick back in the 80s. These of course were Gran National stuff. I’m thinking about buying this to preserve some history. My dilemma is without actual numbers I feel this is just a really cool story.

    Thoughts?

I know a guy that lives in the Flint, Michigan area that has a Buick 430 4Bolt Main with a big letter X on the back side of the block that came out of Buick Engineering.
I also heard of another block that had real thick heavy casting by the main bearing casting for the 4Bolt Main but wasn't drilled for it.
So check that area around the main cap webbing to see if it's different from the normal 455 block.
