Hi Guys, been read-in for a while, thought I'd see if you guys could answer a question for me???? I'm pretty sure that BUICK made a center cap (similiar to chevy's) for what appeared to be the standard chevy rallye wheel that cam on vettes, Monte Carlo's, etc. I have seen pictures of the center cap, and as memory serves I'm pretty sure it was on a 68 skylark! My question is, will this centercap fit on standard (vette style) 15'' rallye wheels and if so, can they still be found, or am I "sol"? Thanks in advance!!
THATS THEM! Boy thats great that you responded, thanks alot. Maybe you could give me some reference to how people list these when selling them! What to ask for in the correct terminolgy? What years did they use this style cap and what's a fair price for these? One last thing, will they fit a standard 8" Vette wheel? The center caps I use are the standard Chevy! Again thanks for replying!!! Frank PS: Have had my car since 1981, did a decent resto job that finished in 84, had first kid in 1988 stored car since then and am now getting back to it. Would really like to find a set of these center caps, nothing against chevy, but would rather not have Chevy centercaps on the car if I could find a set of these. Always Liked the chevy wheel though and since they are 8" wide they really allow the tires to sit well on the road. When I built the car, I didn't get the original wheels with the car, as I had to flat bed the car home in pieces. Came upon the Vette Rallyes still wrapped in the GM plastic for $25 a wheel in 82 and they work real well!
Center Caps I think there is a set on ebay right now. I've seen prices all over the place on these things. I believe they were available from 65 to 68 maybe 69. Usually they are called disk brake center caps. They fit on the Chevy wheels (I have 15x7's on my car) but Buick never used them on a 15" wheel. Only a special 14" wheel.
