Has anybody purchased a four speed hump from anywhere that is the exact hump as the original buick hump?? I know that the Parts place was willing to repop these but is there a place out there now that has the correct style?? There has been numerous threads on this that I have read but nobody anywhere has said that they purchased a 4 speed hump that has been exactly what they were looking for and has it installed in there vehical.. Can anybody lend me a helping hand?? I need one for my 70 GS and I would like an original but I will settle for an exact reproduction.. Thankyou Randy :TU:

Theres no hump like say a chevelle hump. Theres just a hole cut in the floor with a retaining ring that bolts the rubber booty down to the floor...thats it.

Well, it's not a really big hump, but there is a hump welded to the floor as you can see on this 71GS looking from the bottom up.

Like you said, this has been discussed before. And my answer to your question is that I don't know anyplace selling them for the Buicks, as a matching part. I hear more about people making do with a Chevy hump instead which I think is different.

Then the next challenge may be getting the carpeting to fit right.

Top side. I believe this is a hump and not just a hole in the tunnel.

I agree with you mike. It is a hump just not a hump like a chevy. :beer

This other thread says that The Parts Place would like to repop them but no takers on giving one up...Is there anyone out there that bought one from one of these other places that got an exact buick hump back?? Thankyou Randy

Funny thing is, my car has been in the resto shop for about three years. I could have had the hump sent out for repro a long time ago and we'd already have them now if someone was really serious about doing it. There still may be time. Although I wouldn't want to sell it or chance losing it. Maybe I can do them myself here in China for low bucks. Hmmm...

Hand made to exact specifications. This is not a complicated part.

I already sent a note to the resto shop to see if they can send me the part. This one looks so simple I could have a few dozen made no problem. Probably by hand is cheaper for a short run than making a stamping sort of thing. If I get a positive response I'll do it. Four to six month time frame, I'd suppose. Depends when I can get the template. They'll turn it around over here in three to four weeks I'd expect. Then another few weeks to get back to the USA. I haven't talked to Mike Garrison yet but he'd probably be a good person to work through for local USA shipping and handling. That part is complicated here for me. I can't ship ones and twos back to USA. Would need to do it in bulk due to the cost. Shipping will cost more than the parts otherwise.

Sounds good just let me know. I am no huge rush for one. But I do need it so if you can get it done I am in for one. If you feel up to the task and if it's not a burden. :beer

There are atleast 25 people looking for them on different threads on here.. Maybe a quick post for people looking for them would be in order.. If you look on the thread I posted before TPP is looking to repop these maybe get ahold of them and see how fast they can get one done?? I would very much appriciate it!!!! I think some others would appriciate it also!! Put me down for two!!!

I'd rather do it myself than have you guys "paining" TPP for it. What do they charge for the Chevelle model? That would be a good frame of reference. I'd try to do 25% less whatever that is. Despite the fact that they probably sell several times more of the Chevelle part. But I'm talking without the facts yet and I need to get my part first. So there are a few things to happen first.

Hey Mike, I would rather you do it also.. www.allstarmuclecar.com has them for 56.00 a piece and they are the chevelle type..At that price I would take three.. One for my 70 one for my 71 and 1 for my buddys 69 GS 400.. If you get one done send me a picture and I will buy it on the spot!! Thankyou Mike!! Randy :TU:

You can put me down for one too if you get them repoped. I have been looking for a while, and I was the one who ventured into Chuck West's allstarmusclecars and decided it was not a buick hump with some other members. So I have spoken with many too that are interested in getting one. Keep us updated.

I found out that mine is already welded onto the new floor so I guess I don't have one to use after all.

    4spd. Hump

This may be a stupid question but is there a difference in the floor pan from an automatic car floor and a 4spd. floor. My whole floor pan needs changed out is the a difference in 4spd.pans and auto. pans? :Do No:
    Thanks,
    Tim

I dont know about the 65 era cars, but the 68 thru 72 used the same floor pan for both automatic and manual trans. the manual trans cars just got the floor pan cut out on the assembly line and a hump spot welded over the hole.
