I was wondering if there was any tips when replacing a waterpump on a 350 Buick, I am looking into buying a 79 Bonneville with a 350 Buick.

Be careful taki9ng bolts out ,they corrode with the aluminum housing then they snap.Had it happen its not cool. The threads strip on the housing on the small bolt also. Take your time and use wd40 wearever you can. chris

why did GM use aluminum for the timing chain cover? Is the timing chain cover from a Pontiac the same?

I don't think anything is the same between pontiac and buick 350's.

  5. I assume you've made a positive id that it is a Buick engine that someone put in that Pontiac? I haven't heard of Pontiac using Buick 350's in any of their cars. Someone must have swapped it in.

I may be wrong but I think there are two different sbb H2O pumps. One has a short snout and the other has a long snout. Before you leave the store, verify the one you have matches the old.
