Well spark plugs look clean, nothing really on em. Maybe tiny specs of something but I can't tell. And the oil looks dark for oil that was just put it but when you say milkshake, do you mean light and creamy ? Mines kinda dark but I can't tell if that qualify as a milkshake lol car won't start for crap, sounds like it nearly has juice maybe one crank, then sounds like a slipping fan or something, weird noise. But no leaks under car or on block from what I saw.

Sounds like the oil is good. Milk shake, like frothy brown white. An emulsion of water and oil. Having the battery in the trunk just invites starting problems. 2 gauge cable may not be nearly enough. Everything needs to be right and properly grounded with 1 or 0 gauge cable Unless this is a track car, put the battery back where it belongs. Drop the starter and bench test it by hooking it up to a good battery. While your doing that, charge your new battery overnight.

Yea I got the kit off opgi, battery cables were ripped in some spots and I was driving one time and started smoking and when I looked at cable all the rubber covering the inside was melted and falling off lol so I just switched it all up. But when I first did that it was starting great.. Ground could be better but I figured wouldn't work at all if that was the case. Starter only thing I didn't change, and alternator so I figured they were the culprits.

You have lots to do before you start pulling the motor apart. Go to it, and good luck. I'm signing off.

I agree with Larry, get the battery back to under the hood, get a REALLY good ground, good solid connections, get a ($15) multi-meter so you can poke around and confirm very little voltage drop between the battery and the connections. Start with that, if you can get it running set the timing and just keep the initial timing low till you can sort out your total timing.

You can PM me your phone number and I can call you and help you over the phone if you want.

Do not get too discouraged, you should have seen some of the dumb things I have done with vehicles.... You live and learn.... Still learning every day man!!!

.. Ok will do, is there any way I could keep it back there if I can ground it real good ? Where the battery would be in front had this one spot weld holding in this metal piece. Battery would rest on top of it sliding all over the place under evasive maneuvers LOL, but when I did the switch I ripped it off cause it was so flimsy.. Yea I probably will this time around I think the 350 deserves some massaging from the Real Guru's. if I haven't sayed it before thank you sean, this build wouldn't have happened without your help and I would be flint stoning my ass everywhere if it wasn't for you taking the time to answer questions from a rookie.thanks a ton, and this block will be pro charged in future and you know who I'm Gona go to for help :Brow: Right on for encouragement, just embarrassing, hate to make same mistake twice.. Guess thats the Cali militia attitude in me

Okay well if that is the case then leave the battery in the trunk but you must ensure you are getting enough voltage to the starter so go grab a multi-meter. Get your battery charged and go from there. Like Larry said your cables may or may be too small... A voltage drop would show on the multi-meter though with a quick test at the starter and the battery to see the difference.

Hang in there and do not get embarrassed... Do like I said in my e-mail and go on the "Board" section and look for members in your area... You may have a GURU in your town ready to help you out... All in all the easy stuff we can walk you through on here though....

One step at a time, baby steps... Report back when you get the battery charged and very little voltage drop from the battery to the starter.

Ok well I put fully charged battery on, hooked it up. Tried to start, more power then yesterday for sure but no start. Dad told me to tap the solenoid couple times. Took couple times but car started. Still tapping from the right head for sure, didn't run it long enough to smell coolant or anything. Soo.. Start taking carb, manifold, right head off?

First take the valve cover off and see look for something obvious.

ok so here's the deal, I was mistaken by saying it was the Same head. Its the driver side head for sure , and the side they worked on was the passenger side. So I called him pretty much saying I can't pay for you to correct your mistake and il do it myself. He went on to say he assumed that the other head was fine so by not doing it the problem just finished itself off, and sayed no way other head wasn't perfect cause he personally did it soo got him to do this one for free. Not even paying towing soo :beers2:. Soon to be :3gears:

There may be a timing isue if the original old style balancer is used with the new cover. The marks are in a different location. Top dead center must be checked with a piston stop to verify TDC is correct with cover/balancer.
