I too got to see them and speak with Mike Jr. at length about them at BG. Awesome looking pieces and they (TA) really do have the best intentions to put out a quality part. If I ever get to do another project with a purpose built mill, these head will be on it.

Right because designing, engineering and mass producing cylinder heads should only take a few weeks?

A few weeks is as ridiculous as 16 yrs..

I'm sure this head project is nothing but good PR for TA. There is no money in this for them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- if these heads won't make a 350 run along side a warm 455 out of the box, then what is the point?

TA committed to making the intake first and then the heads. The intake was released in 2015 and now the heads are about to be released. They weren’t even working on the heads till the intskecwas done.

What defines a warmed over 455?

I would think along the lines of cam, headers & intake.

455 Billet heads took 12 weeks from machine program to having 3 sets on my door step. The CAD files took way longer!

A well built iron headed 455 will easily put a GS deep in to the 12s. It's not hard to do at all. And the car will have excellent street manners. That's warm.

An aluminum headed 455 all but guarantees low 12s high 11s.

The 350 heads need to compete with that. With the posted flow numbers of 206 on the intake side I'm sorry to say it's not likely.

No because my ported heads are at 235 and 176 and I could beat some warmed up 455's and that is probably just a cam and headers. The new heads should at least beat what I have that should be a no brainer. I mean really why would I need to have these ported more unless I am going to go all race then I could see it.

They should be 260 185 out of the box. Hot stock heads are this so I cannot see why the new ones can't do this.

Like was said previously 16 years is too long

Well I will tell you I built this motor 25 years ago I am not 35 years old anymore where it was a lot easier to tear these things apart and get bent up crawling under and over the fenders. So now I have to wonder do I really want to spend the money at this time in my life or just let it go and run what I got and be done with it.

Go back to that original list and start asking each and every one of those people if they are gong to go with the project now. What I see is about 5 -10 people that Might do it. 20 years ago there would have been at least 40.

Once Sonny Seal wrecked that car that was the end that era of the fastest 350 out there he could have used those heads. He was the reason I built this 350 in the first place. If I thought that there was any inclination that there was never going to be any support for this motor I would have built a 600 hp 455 and been done with it.

If I was on the fence right now I would get that aluminum 455 that is on sale now and get the heads that are on sale now, period.

There was more support for this 350 when Ken Bell put out his parts book back in 1985. You only got about 7 people here that have the balls to run this 350 everyone else just talks you would think after everyone knowing that I ran the piss out of the motor for the past 25 years there would be more to build it.

I was really surprised that Comp Cam had 3 cams for this motor WAY back in 1983. I put one in. How long ago was that. I will answer that 35 years ago.

You got a guy up north that has been sitting on good parts for 10 years now yeah 10 years now and not one motor built or ran or anything. Boy that will get people pumped up to build this right? Look at the parts ooohh boy. We have to have the aluminum heads first, bullcrap. Build the iron motor and lets see what it has got.

So what do I do, spend 3 grand on the heads or spend that 3 grand to have a natural gas line ran thru my front yard so we can have a real gas stove and a heater and get rid of this electric crap. Like I said, not 35 anymore.

I don't see you busting out a 350 to build you been on here yacking about how to do it, well now it is time.

and now we have been milked on this for the past 3-4 years hearing that they are going to get done and 2019 is just around the corner. that will make it 5 years now

Time for me to shut up, see your butt behind me in my mirror at Quaker. 2019

Better than never... what's the difference now.

Not pissed at you you have a good point.

Pissed that no one can get past the 212 cam stick that 510 cam in there. Mart and
Demko got it going on gs johnny too.

    so what say you.

I hope to run something at the new quacker meet this year. And the gs nationals. Even if it’s a basic refreshed 350 with 3.0 flattops and a crower cam. Watching isn’t as fun. Running 14s is better then sitting in the garage onjack stands with no time slips. The 212 seems to be the one every one seems to want. Get the compression up , go atleast 413 and 9.5 convertor.

hey, all everybody wants is some hard information on the heads. not saying anything does not promote sales or friendship.

Maybe there should be a NEW updated list for the heads......

What does it matter if there's a list for the heads? Personally I would ask for information about the heads or an update of some sort
