Any board member here restore bucket seats? Prefer somebody in the mid-atlantic region. Just trying to keep my :dollar: in the Buick community. Alan
Alan, Do it yourself...not hard to do at all....see my article" http://www.buickperformance.com/bs.htm
George is right - I followed the article on his website and rebuilt my own bucket seats. Takes some time but not difficult at all.
DIY Its not hard just time consuming. Use Georges site for info. Get your covers from Legendary. http://www.legendaryautointeriors.com/page/70/SeatUpholstery.aspx
Here is the link to when I did mine. 10 hrs and sore hands for 2 days but well worth it. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=158139
When do you guys consider the springs need replaced? When they just have no springy tension left? Obviously if they're broken, replace them. I have some buckets that have been sitting out side for a long time and am curious. Thanks Ryan.
If the springs are pretty crusty with rust and heavily pitted then they will likely start breaking once they are put back in use. I installed a set of new springs recently on a bucket and the seat, at least so far, sits a bit high for the guy that owns the car....we'll see if they settle in a bit.
PGlade I'm doing a concert in ATX next month... You should come out in the Buick... I might roll my 68. Good photo opp... lol
I've got a guy in Winchester VA who does excellent work. The seats are like new inside and out: frames, springs, etc. He's BOP, so not just Buick! Let me know if you are interested. - Bill
