brum brake minimum thickenss

    i'm rebuilding my brake system but i don't konw what the minmum thickness is for the front and rear drums for machining (number not on the drum) my car is a 69 skylark custom 2 dr 350-2 any input would be GREATLY appreciated! cause is all fun and games when i'm :3gears: but when i hit the brake and feel the floor i go :eek2:

    I believe you mean max inside diameter,because every time you resurface the drum you take meat from inside and make inside diameter bigger .I do have 71 factory manual and it says max inside diameter for 43-44000 series (rear) is 9.590and 45-46-48-49000 are 11.090and Estate wagon 12.090,I,m asuuming they used same size drums for many years, it should also be stamped at out side of drums too.I have the pic of that page too,the second pic is to find out what series your car fall in to,in your case is 43000 or 44000 .
