Hi all, on Christmas day, my brother Greg had a stroke at age 39. It was a massive stroke at the base of his brain, which the Dr.s say is usually fatal. He is stable now, but has a LONG road ahead of him for recovery, and the possibility of that recovery is still unknown as his body still has to absorb the blood in his brain before he awakes. The irony is he was a Radiologist at the hospital he is now admitted to. His wife and 3 kids are in a real bad spot, as she was a stay at home Mom, and his kids are 8,5 and 2 and money is tight. Here's a newspaper article on the whole thing. Its a great way to have a nice evening, and help a great cause. I am flying in from SC, so I will be there too. Here is the location and payment info if youd like to have a night out. Hug your kids a little tighter tonight. Please keep him in your hearts and prayers. -Jon
Deffinately be praying for your brother and his family tonight and the hard days to come. I went and gave my kids another hug and a kiss also. Bill
Thanks... its hard to believe this has happened at 39..... I mean this happens at 80 after a long life. Were one of those families where nothing bad ever happens. Guess it was finally our turn. Either way, I get to see him this weekend, and I understand the turnout for the dinner dance is huge! Cant wait to see the support group that has gathered for this. What a great bunch of people. Thanks for the prayers.... they are working! Jon
Yeah, 39 is quite young for a stroke. I'm 39 myself (at least till midnight tonight ) and can't really imagine going thru the same ordeal. I wish your brother the best!:TU:
