thanks you know, i've been to that site before but never thought to look there for the breather hose...they have it for $16, so i think i'll try to get the $5 "close enough" part first... scott
Co-rect... The 4201 lookup number was the number on the item when I bought it. Good to see you found the goodyear part number!:TU: Oh yeah, the sticker says 63906 too:error:
That hose part number crosses over to a Gates 28474. Or you can tell the partsmonkey: "I need a 90-degree heater hose for an '87 Buick Grand National 3.8L turbo. Lots of other applications, that's the easiest for me to remember - plus I hate putting Ch*vy parts on my Buick. (edit: non-turbo cars have a different hose)
My '72 455 came with a breather hose but no air cleaner. The hose was shaped to come up and to the right. I found a wide-mouth air cleaner housing, but its breather is above and to the left of the air cleaner pipe in the valve cover, so neither the old hose nor a straight one like Adam found would work. But my local parts guy found this one, which fits perfectly after cutting 3" off one end. Gates #19764, specs to a '95-'02 Lincoln Town Car coolant hose. Glad it's 3/4" hose, there are lots of pre-bent hoses to look through!
