If we can vote daily for a GSX, I'm sure we can help out some unfortunate people with an additional click. Thanks :TU:
i put it to my favorites so i can remember it every day. thanks from a 2x cancer survivor. still sucking air myself ; - ) thats me in the relay for life shirt. thanks.
Maybe someone will put this on the turbobuick.com and turbobuicks.com message boards. I think one of the sites has more members and the other less, but it should help out.
Thanks for putting this up Marco. My Aunt is a survivor of Breast Cancer 12 years and counting. :TU: :TU: Thanks to all of you for clicking on the link. Beth
hi, this is where i toil away every day as a web designer.. thanks for posting this, Marco! although we still rely on that click for free donations model, we also sell a whole LOT of cool stuff and donate half the proceeds to our charity partners. well, some cool stuff. hehe.. now if only i can convince them to sell the 70 re-pop GS grilles, that would be sweet! :TU:
Wow - Thanks everyone. Apparently 'Joe' from the BCA board (where I also posted this) is not as apathetic....
yes, we are a for-profit organization and never tried to hide that fact or lie to anyone about that. we are not a charity but are partnered up with quite a few, including the national breast cancer foundation, mercy corps, america's 2nd harvest, fund for animals, etc, etc.. we don't change the percentage amounts given to our partners, that is always set depending on how many there are per site. and yes, we have to place a cookie on visitor's computers like pretty much every other website out there. it is the only way to make sure people aren't cheating and clicking more than once per day on an individual site. also, we can give people stats on how many times they have donated in the past (which isn't currently on the site, iirc). we never EVER would sell off info about visitors to nefarious companies or spammers. we send a LOT of money to our charity partners that otherwise would probably have never been donated. sure, people can and are encouraged to donate directly, but our unique business model (that has been copied many times) is what sets us apart from somewhat shady companies trying to freeload. ie- we gave over $100,000 to NBCF alone in Q4 of last year. and over the entire last year, across all sites we gave close to a million dollars to our partners. i do not believe we claim anywhere breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women, unless we got stats saying otherwise.
