Can anyone tell me if OPGI has the correct Brake pedal pad for a 70 GS 4-speed. Page 49 in their catalog. Thanks, Gary
Do you mean the stainless "Disc Brake" disc that they use or do you mean the style of the rubber itself (I haven't looked at the catalog)?? or both. My observations on disc brake pedal pads with the large stainless "disc brake" disc (I will follow up with pics tomorrow): None of the repro stainless discs are dead on exact to the originals...The stamping of the lettering is not as crisp/sharp compared to the originals and the metal around the lettering is distorted/sunken down (from the pressure of the stamping) whereas the factory discs don't exhibit this depression. Sure, maybe it's the years of wear and tear that wear down the originals and "flatten them out" but like a lot of this repro vs original stuff it is amazing how sharp and well made this GM stuff is. If the pedal pads have horizontally oriented ribs (with no breaks in them other than for the disc)then they are likely correct. There is/was a GM replacement rubber brake/clutch pedal pad sold that is not the same as the originals...thinner horizontal ribs with two breaks in each rib I think. I think I have an old pic on this site of the original disc..I will try to find it today. I know this doesn't answer your original question, sorry.
Brake pads Thanks patton, I am having such a hard time finding anything for the car that closely resembles the original or is of any quality.
If you want to use the BUICK DISC BRAKES pad, get the metal ring from a used pad and contact Duane as he makes the correct replacement pad for the ring to mount on it.
gary crossman is looking at 4 speed pedal pads. They have the solid stainless "disc" instead of the stainless "ring" that the auto pads have
