Today I decided to put the brake fluid to my new power brake system on my 68 GS. The motor has not been run yet. I have fluid to all wheels but notice that the distribution block is damp with all the connections tight. Could this piece be cracked? Will the brakes feel tighter when the engine is running supplying the booster with vacuum? Sorry for being long winded. Frank

Stupid question - are you sure the block was dry to begin with, and are you sure nothing was spilled on it?

I imagine it could be cracked, though it's not too likely.
Did you replace the lines? Did you use prebent, or bend your own... what I'm getting at is did you flare the lines, and if so, did you double-flare them? This might make a difference.

Lines are double flared from the Right Place. Nothing was wet before as this is a completely new system. I am going to take apart and start over. Frank

That's probably a good idea. Check the threads in the block and on the flare nuts while your at it. Make sure they are clean and in good shape.

Might as well take the block off and look at it under good light.
