cray1801 Too much is just right.

I've got a major vacuum leak, the air is sucking at the bottom of the master cylinder close to the base at the bottom. I think the leak is from the booster, it really sucks, easily heard. I currently have power drum brakes but want to upgrade to disc's in the next year. The problem is I need a replacement booster right away. I'm not sure if the booster for disc and drum are the same, I hope so. :Do No:

Anyway what's the cost and are they easy to come by. I don't need anything special if the booster is different from the power disc booster. If the booster is the same for either application I'd spring for a nice one, maybe coated. Thanks

Just had the same problem...the leak is coming from the seal directly behind the master cylinder. It just fits over the end of the rod coming out of the booster. I have been looking all over for one and so far, haven't had any luck. GM discontinued it. They have to be available somewhere, as I am sure a new one would come on a new or rebuilt booster. I just put some RTV silicone on mine and it hasn't leaked yet. You shouldn't need a whole new booster.

You have come to the right place. Check with Mark Reeves on this Board as he made a group purchase and graciously offered them here for a great price.
