Very interesting - looks like a few eye openers - Sub base New London, Walter Reed, etc. Lots of cat fights this summer - wait to see the final in September!

and all that mess just to save what ? an estimated $49 B over the next 20 years ? $ 49 B is chump change, ( in a way ) especially when you spread it out over 20 years ! what a foolish waste, the savings is predicted to equal what we spend in iraq in no time. BRAC will prove to be a big mistake. we are closing bases we will need. wait & see, when the govt saves money, well i dont know how to end that sentence, the govt has never once, in the history of mankind, saved money. its not possible.

Crane is not closing - they are downsizing by 683 people out of ~ 4000 employees. It concerns the Naval Support Activity - whatever that is....

Glad the Watervliet Arsenal is staying home (not on that list that I could find) but sad that all of those are closing and downsizing :(

Yep and you still see those bumperstickers that say something like "I hope to see the day when the Navy has to have a bake sale to keep up their funding" well they might just see it. Its sick to think our military could be "downsized" while China is hitting its stride financially and military wise. Wow I hope I die in a comet within the next 20 years, its gonna get rough after that!
