The BPG Nationals was awesome. My son and I had a terrific time. The people who attended were exceptionally nice. The lodging at the Holiday Inn was surprisingly nice and affordable. Good job BPG!! Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
It was good to finally meet you Larry, and I am glad that there was a good time to be had, while you were waiting for us to make it there. Look forward to seeing your car in the show next year! JW
Next year I gotta just walk around and talk to EVERYONE!! Sorry I didn't meet up with you Larry! I would have enjoyed meeting you in person! Mike
Mike, I made a point of asking around, but I had no luck in finding you. Next event I will give you my cell number in advance. Thanks again for your help & support! Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
Larry, Real nice to meet you & your son, sorry we did not get to talk more, I told Dana I had met you & he was bummed he did not get a chance to talk with you. There is always next year. Can't wait to see what JW is going to do to your car :Brow: Take care, Beth
Something to consider about the comments in another thread about trying to go to Norwalk for the BPG Nats. Hotel room rates are HORRIBLE! At least a $100-$150+ a night on the weekends if you are lucky. This is due to Cedar Point amusement near the area in Sandusky Ohio on Lake Michigan. I just returned from the Pontiac Nationals. Norwalk is as fine a facility as there is in the Nation. A great track! The expense of the hotel rooms in the summer make it a VERY expensive destination. At least DOUBLE what I pay anywhere else I have been this year to a show. Something to consider since the above post made reference to the "reasonable" hotel rates available in Salem.
The Norwalk Raceday in May has real reasonable room rates. Average about $59-$79 with the event discount.
Have to say I did both, Cedar Point $$$$$ amusement during the summer with the family and also Buick Day in Norwalk in May. For Buick Day I just made my reservations way early, plus the Norwalk event is one week before the park opens for the seasons (cheaper rates). I have found the hotels at Norwalk quite reasonable, just book 'em early. Great event!
Kevin, How is your new engine? Did you make a run with it? You and your friends really made the weekend interesting and fun!:3gears: Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
Beth, Nice to meet you too! Did you make any runs with that Hot Rod Sportswagon? Nice car!! Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
Larry, it was a pleasure meeting up with you and your son. I look forward to seeing your car when Jim finishes up wiht it and that "free deal" can happen when I see it done(and maybe get a ride!). Take care
Hey, Larry - It was good to meet you and your son! Hope that he had a good time.....always need to encourage that next generation of Buick nuts! See you next year at the Buick Nats with BOTH of our cars ready to go! Cole
Hi Cole, Real nice to meet you too. I know you guys worked very hard to put on such a great event. Thank you. My membership application and check is in the mail. Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
Hi Reg, It was great chatting with you. You are Buick hardcore all the way and that is cool! Next time, I will try one of those "Canadian sandwhiches". See you soon. Larry DiStefano "71 GS Stage 1" (now in the capable & honest hands of Jim Weise)
