Well. The BPG nats...almost killed me.

Left Friday at about 4:00pm. Ran out of gas at 5:30, thanks to a faulty gas gauge (and me thinking I got 30 mpg with a 455) Got picked up while walking in the rain by a super nice guy who said he was sent by god. I believe him. Got gas, left original gas cap on ground.

Arrived at Boardman at about 7:30. Ate at Longhorn. Cruised by Red Roof. Very little action at that time.

Went back to Holiday Inn. Broke key off in trunk cylinder of GS. :af: All my stuff in trunk. Went to bed.

Woke up. Called locksmith. 70 bucks and 3 hours later, got into trunk.

2:15pm Saturday, arrived at the track. Snuck in to the show, greeted by Beth...super nice lady.

Looked at the prototype GSX. Wept.

Watched the badazz Buicks tear the track in half. Wept.

Later that night....10:30pm...no action or burnouts anywhere

    :ball:

This will change next year...I'm bringin' an extra set of tires:Brow:

All in all...hell of a time!

Hey Derek, sound like the kind of luck we would have.

Glad you had a good time though.

Derek, the burnouts on Saturday night were behind the Red Roof. The parking lot was covered in black stripes. The smoke was very visible from your hotel if your room faced that direction.

When the Boardman OH squad cars showed up later on, the story they got was that it was some guy in a black Mustang trying to spoil our Buick fun. Needless to say they didn't buy it. Fortunately nobody got caught in the act.

You were a little early. The shenanigans didn't start until around midnight.

Coincidentally, I ran out of gas on my way back to the hotel on Saturday night but for the opposite reason. I thought my gas guage was reading low but it turned out to be right.

Well, I say we do more parking lot gathering next year. The bigger it gets (and it WILL get bigger), the more tire smoke will be seen!

Here in Columbus, the Mopar Nats get crazy. Every year (except for 2 I think) for the last 15 years, these guys attack the east side of Columbus. They cruise so much, it causes huge traffic jams. Every hotel has smoke coming from its parking lots, and are full of mini car shows. Yes, the cops do write tickets, and get a little fussy...but oh well. These Mopar guys bring a TON of money to the local businesses, so everyone kinda puts up with it, even the local cops. They tried to stop it, but now they more or less control it, and make sure it doesn't get too dangerous. And of course there are some idiots in the crowd.

I just kinda wish some of us didn't go to bed so early!

I was at the Mopar Nats this weekend. It was insane on Brice Rd.Smoke clouds everywhere,Mike Wowk even got into the action with the 12 seater 1 ton van:eek2: .The crowd was rocking his van as the smoke poured from the rear tires. I was at Salem on Thurs, next year I hope the Mopar event isnt the same weekend as the BPG event.
The Mopar crowd kinda liked a Firebird being there [FAST class,69 RA IV] The loney GM guy there
