My Q is: How to build the bottomend of a 350 to keep it all together under normal (?) street/strip use? I plan to rebuild the 79 350 engine in the future and maybe put on the alum heads and other things. Maybe, even put on a charger. Info. on this would be appreciated. Look into the TA Performance block girdle for some serious strength, it is a serious peice of work. I think good quality bearings, ballanced rotating assembly, stronger rods if you use heavy pistons, proper clearances and a good builder would give you a solid foundation to build from.
Maybe they should make a girlde for our 350's since they do have allot of potential. The thought of the main caps walking makes me cringe.
I have never had any problems! If you're worried, get the block align honed, and use main studs - not bolts. I'd be very supprised (impressed really) if you ran over your crank!
