I went to the Swap meet here in town and was lucky enough to pick up a 1971 showroom brouchure, a 71 Fisher body manual, and a NOS right hand mirror. Lots of people there, it was like a bunch of piranhas on a dead carcass! Still had a good time though. Hope everyone made out like a bandit!!:Brow:

I wish I'd have known how to FIND "YOU GUYS" there!

    I was there from 8AM- 12PM!

Brian, I saw your car in the parking lot, as I was leaving the show, but unfortunately I missed YOU!:ball:

I "missed out"/Passed on a couple of things (I didn't really "need", anyway, but Good Deals, nonetheless!):

NEW 455 .030 FORGED Pistons, on Reconditioned Rods- $200 (or best offer!):eek2:

Offenhauser Intake (single Quad)- $45 :Dou:

BRAND NEW GSX Rear Spoiler- $225 :ball:

I did buy a Center Console emblem (GOOD DEAL!:eek2::TU: )

I bought ALL of the GSX Prints (set of 3) for my GSX "art" collection!:bglasses:

    I didn't find anything else that I don't already have.:Do No:

There was a LOT of Pontiac stuff and "Some" Olds stuff, and HARDLY ANY Buick stuff!:puzzled:

I was looking forward to meeting some of you guys that were there, but I didn't know who was who, as there were a LOT of guys there, anyway!:Do No:

There's a couple more car shows in that area coming up in June and July, so I'll get more info, and we can try to hook up then! Should be a cool BUICK get together!:TU:

Jim, Hurry Up and get that '71 DONE!:TU::laugh:

Did you buy it from a guy with Riv stuff? It was in a small display case? I asked him how much but he decided he rather stop talking to me and BS with another guy.

He had a nice horn button for a mere $50.00. At least the guy with the $800.00 used core support stayed home this year.

    I didn't get there until 9:00ish.

    Glad you found something.

Scott, you didn't stop by and say hi! I saw David walk by a few times, and had just met Brian.

It didn't seem as crowded as years before, either.

I was there and it was mostly Poncho. I found a couple of pieces of chrome for my 64 Riv and a can if R 12. A guy had a couple of parts for my 64 Electra but more $$$$ than I wanted to go.

I also think that ebay and the internet have cut into the interest for swaps.

It was good to see Shari and sign a card for Loyd. Not as crowded as previous years. I don't think it was as well promoted as when the CCBCA is the hosting car club.

Where were you at, Shari? I didn't KNOW you were there, or I would have at least said HI (I must not have Recognized you, if I did see you there.) I got "caught up" in the crowd, and ended up being on a Mission for 3 other buddies that were there. They ended up buying a lot more for their cars (Olds and Pontiac), than I even found for mine, but I found all THEIR parts/deals FOR them!:Smarty::TU::bglasses:

I was a little disappointed with the Swap Meet, as it really does seem to be a "dying" event (for Buick Parts, anyway).:ball:

I can find more (Buick) parts in the local junkyards than I saw there at the show, and that's sad, in my opinion.:Do No:

Yes, that was the same one. It wasn't even the guy's who had the Display case, it belonged to a Different guy that was selling it.:Do No: I saw a few of them there, but that was the nicest one that I saw. The one that I have on my console now, is in 2 pieces (I got it that way).:Do No:

I didn't take much to "sell", but I did take parts to "supply" one of the V8 Board members, as his car is in the Paint/Body shop right now (hopefully, getting ready for the World of Wheels show), in Chicago.:bglasses:

I'm just glad that I can help guys out, that are in my "local" area (Midwest, Iowa/Illinois)!:bglasses::TU:

Scott, we had a table along the stage, right next to the BCA Club table. All the car clubs had tables along the stage. In fact, we were right in between the mens room and the hot dog stand. A very busy place, I might add.

Who's getting their car ready for the World of Wheels? Anyone I know?

Maybe we'll see you at one of the races. I know we'll be at Cordova for their B-O-P race in October.

    Shari,

'71Lark has his car in the Body Shop getting painted right now. I don't want to give too much away and spoil any "surprises", but his car will be Beautiful when it's done!:TU: If it doesn't get any trophies or awards this year, then something is definitely wrong.:Smarty:

I will DEFINITELY be at Cordova in October, too! I'll have my '72 GS there, not to race, but just to attend with the other Buicks.

I don't like to race Buick vs. Buick, it kind of defeats the purpose, in my opinion.:Do No:

Cole, notice there is a "comma" separating Midwest and Iowa/Illinois (Midwest "," Iowa/Illinois):TU:, to INCLUDE all of the "Midwest" States, without having to LIST all of them.:TU:
