    My bet is the crust and rust looked better.

    That looks terrible. That's what you get when you use generic tape. I only use 3M.:D

    What's funny is I've seen a few on the road that have gone the duct tape repair route. Though none have gone so far as to paint the duct tape.

    I did see one where tape had been used to fix rusty rockers. It was done a while ago because the bottom of the tape had unstuck. So it looked like the car was wearing a short dress.
