Hey, I found my build sheet today:grin: I also read the other thread about the 70 GS 455. My body codes are similar. ST70 44637FL1 066868BDY TR Z189 63 H PNT 10B Any help with these codes would be appreciated.:beer My build sheet is in pretty good shape:TU: The only thing wrong is they taped it in the top middle and it covers up quite a bit of infoou: At least I found it and most of it can be made out.:TU: Thanks in advance for the help.:TU:
It was built at Flint on the second week of october 1969, Originally Desert Gold with the dark gold top (rare, I believe this color top was discontinued in mid 1970) and Burnished Saddle bucket seat interior. Cool! I have no idea what the Z before Z189 is however.
Hi Chris Thanks for the info Haven't talked to you in a while. I also haven't been able to locate that car you where talking about. I've beenpretty busy lately. Finally been able to start working on the car. Pulled the fuel tank and was surprised to find the inside of the tank still looked like new. I'm going to go ahead and clean out the fuel line and pull the carb to be safe. Hopefully in another week or so I can get it running.:TU:
1970 Dark gold top production figures 378- GS455 Coupes built with this color top (212 of those were built in Flint) 452- GS350 Coupes bult with this color top. :beer
The top on my car is what I would describe as a tan. It would be nice to be able to compare the color. I think the top has been replaced and I'm not sure how close they matched the colors.
It may very well be gone by now, it was a couple years ago that I saw it there. Good luck with your car, if you ever need to get rid of it, put me at the top of that list. :Brow: :TU: Aaaah, what I wouldn't do for a 4 speed... a Staged 4 speed at that.
You know, when I was 16 and I was buying my first car. I had no idea what I was buying. I just knew it was the coolest car I had ever seen. Shortly after I got it I found a couple of other Buick owners and joined the GSCA. When I realized what I had, I parked it. I'm just now getting to a point where I can work on it again.
Sounds bueno, the best thing you can do is drive it. How long has it been put up? Put some fresh fluids in that beast, prime the pump, and putt it around the block a few times. :bglasses:
We may do something in the fall (around late september), but it won't be as formal as the event on April 3rd. Make sure you email Phil Green (TXGS on the board) and have him add you to the list so you recieve the email updates on that stuff, we'd like to have you out at our next event. But there will be some kind of get together in the fall, we just don't know what exactly it will be yet.
Don't know what my computer is doing. Has this board been acting up with anyone else? Seems slow lately.
Unfortunately, the car has been sitting up for about 8 years. WOW!! The time before that I would start it up every now and then. Just kinda got put on the back burner when the kids came along. Now they are older and always want me to get it going.
Cliff F, you might want to try Poston. That is where I got all of my interior stuff from and he was very friendly and knew exactly what color my interior was as he had the same saddle color interior on his. Everything matched also on the first try.
