Anyone seen the preview for "Lakeview Terrace" starring Samuel L. Jackson? He is leaning on the hood of a 71 or 72 Riv (I only caught a glimpse, but I think it's a 71) in his driveway. He's the bad guy in the movie, so there's a good chance the car meets an unholy demise, however.

What happened to the '71 in the movie "Go" still makes me queasy. At about 1:50 into the clip and thereafter. A great movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXgenbtsnZo
I happened to catch the trailer while watching tv with a bunch of friends, I think I ruined it when I blurted out "HOLY HELL ITS A RIVIERA!!!" then proceeded to talk about how I'm going to see the movie based on the fact that it stars Samuel L. Jackson and the Riviera.
My wife says she saw a music video on VH1 with a Boattail. I wonder if it was related to the movie...
Crank was an awesome movie... also features a boat-tail. i think its a 72 based on the grille. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEXsOqdzYhE
Damn that looks like a good movie possibly! Another hobby of mine is watching as many movies as I can!:TU:
The one destroyed in "Go" seems to have that amazing and rare sunroof, which was first offered in '72. What a shame.
This car is making me doubt the 72 as the first year sunroof theory http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/1481435865.html
Now that's interesting batcar. Everything I've read said it wasn't offered until the next year, but maybe they could provide it if specified? Either way I'm totally captivated by the sunroof option. I saw your car on cardomain while looking up boattails. It's stunning! You must love that sunroof! Congrats man. Beautiful!
It's funny the previous owner never opened the roof (he said it was to noisy) Apparently he never owned a convertible. About the Riv. on Craigslist, I've learned never say never. It could have been a G.M. executive car. A local guy in our area has a purple 71 GTX with exactly the same roof as my car (ASC) so they were around in 71
