I'm in the process of picking a color for my Skylark and while looking at different A- bodies, I stumbled across a 68' Charger on eBay that has an amazing color. Gloss black has been my number 1 spot but this new color looks just right. It gives a very sinister feel, and should go great with blacked out tints and wheels. The only way I can describe it is dark grey/borderline black. It's so dark that it actually looks black under certain lighting. Can anyone please help me identify this color, or company that puts out this exact color? I tried contacting the seller but have yet to receive a response. Thank you for reading.
That first shot almost makes me think it's a newer ford color. They have a black with a faint silver flake they put on f150's and explorers (probably some passenger cars as well) that looks very similar. Could very well be a custom color as well. With auto paint these days, you're just about only limited by your imagination.
Take a look at PXR off new Chrysler products it's more of a black metallic but the "yellower" formula looks like a really dark charcoal You can always just start with a dark charcoal and add black, Mercedes has a real dark charcoal also
Thats actually what made me suggest it may be similar to the Ford color. My uncle has an explorer that color, and I liked it so much that when I was truck shopping I looked at an F150 that color (liked the color more than the truck....haha).
My little brother's GN is a Ford/Mercury color that is super close to that....I texted him to ask what it is, and he thinks it's called Midnight Opal. Looks black except for some lights you can see it as a dark gray.
With a better picture, you might make out the details on the rear lic plate. If different from seller, it might be the ones that coordinated the resto.
That's more of what I was thinking. We have a black metallic Explorer Sport, and its not as dark of black than that Charger.
It looks like a Ford or Chrysler color. Might be Dodge Phantom Black tri coat pearl. Pitch Black is darker.
