Has Anyone Messed with a Blower on a 215? Or Turbo? I am looking to make Somethin Bitchin out of this little powerplant. I have a stroker crank and a set of 64 300 heads that have bigger valves installed. Let me know what you know about this lean Mean Machine. LOL:pp

See Aluminumv8.com, click on image gallery. If anyone has done it Dan LaGrue would probably know.

It would look great with a serpentine belt drive, fuel injection, and/or a supercharger off a 97 or 98 Riviera!

Olds ran a turbo version of the 215 for a while in the early sixties. Better webbing in the block (I think) and factory blow through intake etc... Didn't make a ton of power but might be worth looking into as the heads were the biggest difference in the whole set up. I am not sure if the intakes are a direct bolt up or not due to the slgihtly different heads.371 blower intakes were also available for them at some point. My brother has acquired quite a bit of stuff for them (Buick and Olds) but is not interested in selling any of it at this time.
I know the Brits use the rover version (bigger displacement) in a lot of street rods over there, just about as popular as a sbc is here. I would look for some sites from that side of the big pond for info.

I've got an Eaton M90 on mine, with MegaSquirt EFI, ford EDIS crank trigger ignition and an experimental intercooler. Stock Jetfire (turbo) Olds heads and block with 8-1/2:1 pistons and a stock cam. It puts 15+ psi into the intake at full tilt-n-boogie but the restrictive intake keeps it from blowing. However the boost on the bottom end comes in fast and hard. I'd say a conservative 300 hp probably, all this in an MGB so it's a fun ride as you might imagine. Next upgrade is to be a 340 with the same blower on '64 300 heads, maybe sometime next year.

Bill Jacobson has just finished his 215 blower install. He used a double belt drive with an idler shaft and mounted it directly on top of a custom built intake. Pretty sweet setup. Some Rovers had a blower installed too. Getting equal mixtures to the inner and outer runners may be one of the bigger tuning challenges. Bill used the MS dual fuel tables to even it out. Mine seems to run pretty even.
