My '66 Skylark sat in a bar so I knew it would need some work. I go and turn the heat on and I hear the blower motor, yet when I put my hand over the vent nothing is coming out. I tired both vents on the dash and no air coming out. Any suggestions as to where I should look to fix this issue.
How long did it sit in a "bar", maybe it drank to much and needs to sober up before the vent will open? You need to get a chassis manual for your car, you would have answers like that at your finger tips! Does that year car have vacuum actuated vents? Or are they just ran with a cable? Either way it sounds like your vents aren't working properly. Derek
Ha good old spell check. I'm not too sure what type of system is has. I do need a manual to figure it out. Are they found on eBay? Thanks.
The 1966 Chassis manual is a MUST HAVE, not optional IMO. I linked the ebay page over on the Buickforums page but here it is again, https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...1966+buick+chassis+manual&_sacat=0&rmvSB=true This one is a screaming deal, http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Buick-...254827?hash=item33d3e3d0eb:g:lf0AAOSwbtVZVtAF Is there air coming from anywhere? From the bottom vents?
X2, had friend's sister that had a early 70's Cougar, blower motor would run, vibrate and hum, no air. Took it apart for her and the squirrel cage was full of that fluffy **** from critters
Don't know if its the same on a 66 Skylark, but the blower on my 71 Gs only works for the windshield and the one bottom vent in the middle i think there was an option for having blowers at the side vents
One possible culprit is the cables from the control panel to the heater box assembly have either plastic tabs on their ends. Where in Canada are you located? I'm in Manitoba.
