    Blower question for Rod Hedrickson

Hey Rod.I just got my new herbert catalog and noticed that BDS sells a complete blower kit for the 400 430 455 buicks. Is this what your running, or do you have a one off deal(mainifold) that you made. The price for the kit is around 3500 dollars.Just wonder if bds is a reputable brand and if you know anything about them. Thanks alot T Haeffner.

B.D.S. is a very reputable company. Alot of Top Fuel teams use their big blowers (14-71). I have had my eye on that kit for some time. I am also curios if anyone has any specific knowledge about it. I know that a big hurdle to put blowers on Buicks has always been the intake. But if BDS is producing a kit then it must have a blower intake...right??

B.D.S. is a reputable company. Don't know to much about their kit though.

Rod has a home made/custom manifold. Hampton does offer one too. Basically all it is a modified duel quad. manifold.

Thanks for the replies. The catalog says the kit is totally complete(manifold and all).Hey Perry. There is no way you can get rid of that cowl hood on your 65.(Maybe blower through cowl induction scoop)That car is absolutely gorgeous.Id love to see you put your eliminator engine in it.It would definantly be one of a kind.Hows the gold car coming anyways?Well , take care and ill see ya at an event soon...:TU: PS Thanks for the info on the blower Rod........

I talked to hampton about 5-years ago. Hampton likes to use an (90% sure its a single) Offy 360* single 4 manifold. He mills the top off and opens it up in a few places, though it already is basically open inside (I'm told). He even said he'll knock a few bucks off if you send him a manifold to use. Good we finally found a good use for that one! He cussed somebody that sent him a high-port TA manifold to convert, said it was a PITA with lots of welding to close it in. What a great guy to talk to at about 70 yrs old, and he's still doing blowers for fuelers too!
