What do I fill my 455 block with to strengthen it, and will doing this create cooling problems?

    Thanks,

    Royden,
Since I used to be associated with Hardblok, I feel qualified to answer your question.
I helped poineer it's use in round track cars and street applications. I was also a manufactuers rep for them about 6 years.
When used in a short fill application it will acctually lower your water temperature by circulating the water more times. (less water in the system)
I don't reccomend filling any closer than three inches from the top of the block in the 455 because of the head bolt bosses.
That will be half of the water pump hole on the driver side and the top of the water pump hole on the passenger side.
You will have to use a 3/8 inch fuel hose to run from the passenger side water pump hole to the top of the block so that you have a route for the water.
Mix the Hardblok on the wet side of the directions so it flows evenly.
Hardblok is the only brand that even works, all the other brands will either contract and not support the block or expand and put stress on the block.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Do you know of a distributor in Australia of Hardblok? If not where could I get some?
