I can remember standing right beside that car checking it out, just as a lot of you have at the Buick GS Nationals. Hopefully it's going to a good home. Wished it would have brought more.
The guy kept saying Stage 1.. and why couldnt they pop the hood? Or mention that its TA Stage 3 heads.. :af: They could have done that car a LOT more justice. Oh well glad to see it go fr a good number.
Cann't beleave the lowwwwwwwwww price. The clone chebys and mopars bring more then that ! That was a joke!
The guy who signed the papers was pretty young. Rich kid, or a Buick nut like the rest of us, (or both)?
When the speaker on the podium described it as it was being auctioned they stated it had a Stage 1 with the only set of Stage 3 heads so they did mention it. I too wish they had opened it up that engine is stunning. My guess is that they couldn't figure out how to open it or were afraid to damage the paint.ou:
Yeah we heard that and I looked at dad and he laughed. Funny thing is his reasoning was also that they didnt open the hood because they didnt know/couldnt figure out how.
I believe they said it when the car was up there...450 hp? if I can remember correctly. They also mentioned when it was "snuck out the back door" in Flint and raced down the track at Milan. I had to laugh about that...I remember seeing the tires spin past the 60 ft mark:laugh:
It looks like Gary Kuck of Kuck Motorsports, Lincoln Nebraska bought the Blackhawk. He has a car collection/museum there. He is the same gentleman that bought my old Apollo white GSX at Barrett-Jackson last year.
Not this year! The Chebys and Blowpars along with the rare Tangs are not bringing those crazy numbers. I'm not saying they are cheap to me but compared to a couple years back they are to the money people. BJ will be down this year for sure. It took an airplane to crash the million mark this time. Plus 2 of the biggest sellers they had were all donation for charity and they got no $$ out of the deal. I always hate to see cars sell for less than the cost to build. But, it's a gamble I guess.
You guys did a great job with that powerplant! That car is one of my favorites of all time. Hate I will not get to see and hear it at Buick gatherings in the future.
Great. So the next time anyone is planning a vacation to Lincoln Freaking Nebraska, be sure to stop in and see the Blackhawk. That car will never see the light of day again and maybe a handful of people will ever see it as well. I hope I'm wrong and he brings both of them to the BPG Nationals this year.
