A while back a member posted that he was having Aluminum Billet wheels that resembled the Buick sport wheels made. At the time I looked at the link to the manufacturer of the wheels but forgot to bookmark it. As I recall the wheels were 17 or 18 inch wheels with a 5-5 bolt pattern. If he is looking, could he post a response to my request for info as to the manufacturer?
http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/restoring-replacing-wheels.348405/ In this thread Ted say $375 per wheel to restore a Buick road wheel at www.Rallyamerica.com. So it may not be the thread in question.
Maybe this thread for billet: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...ick-rallye-billet-wheels.318400/#post-2654667
Rats! I think it was you Scott, and I googled Circle Racing and found a post that they are out of business. Several suppliers list 17 or 18" billet wheels, but all that I could find was 4 3/4 bolt circle. I really want the larger diameter wheels, so I may have to go in a different direction. I just love the look of the Sport Wheels. Jim, it appears that Stockton Wheels does primarily steel wheels. If I go any route except the big Buick sport wheels, I will use Aluminum wheels.
I understand the advantage of an aluminum billet wheel vs stock, but what is the advantage of using a larger diameter wheel (17") over the stock 15" Buick wheel? Thanks
I saw that too but was concerned about this line: Circle Racing's 104 Series Billet Buick Rallye polished wheels with painted slots are custom built to order. If Circle Racing are out of business then that won't happen!
I had called them prior to ordering, and remember talking to (maybe the owner?) and he stated he had made himself some custom rallies in 17 or 18 for his 68 or 9 Riviera.
Thanks Korrie - I will look into it. The 17" wheels look great, but I'm not sure about the backspacing. If it will work, you just cost me about $3 grand.
Are you looking for the big body Buick rally wheels or the A body style? US Mag lists these which look like the Riviera/Lesabre/Centurion style rally wheels: http://www.us-mags.com/wildcat-u727-w-11243.htm
I've scoured the ole'interweb looking at wheels and haven't seen forged or billet wheels in 5x5 for full size cars off the shelf. Have seen the 5x4.75 for A bodies - but they seem to have evaporated. These folks will make you just about whatever you want: https://www.evodindustries.com/one-offs They have the drawings for the full size Buick Rally too - see below. This kind of bespoke wheel will be some bucks...
