Hi has anyone put a bigger sway bar in a 67 Riviera ? I am going to put in lower springs (drop 2" ) and thought I might put in a thicker sway bar . What are your thoughts . Id love to here from someone who has done this or seen it done . Cheers http://jamcosuspension.com/products/sfID1/73/sfID2/42/productID/316
OK, maybe Matt is asking if anyone has done this, or maybe the Riv shares a frame with another model that has parts easily swapped?
Do you think the sway bar in the link will fit my car it says it is compatible with Riviera and Wildcat 1966 to 1970 just want to make sure . I don't want to get it all the way to New Zealand and find it wont fit. http://jamcosuspension.com/products/sfID1/73/sfID2/42/productID/316
Just looked at PST and Jamco web sites and the photos of the sway bars look completely different. I need some clarity . http://jamcosuspension.com/products/sfID1/73/sfID2/42/productID/316 http://www.p-s-t.com/s.nl/it.A/id.3028/.f?sc=12
To answer your question. YES. I have a front and rear. It was the smartest thing I've done. The car still has a smooth ride, but if you get into a dicey sitatuation on the highway like someone cutting you off your car will stay planted on the road. Both front and rear are Addco (sp) I would need to find the receipts. oh and disc brakes help too EDIT: I did drop my front end 1 1/2" - if you are doing 2" yikes, that makes it especially hard to get over some curbs. -Chad
Front sway bar http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aco-530 This is the Rear sway bar. - Requires some drilling for mounts, but very effective. http://www.summitracing.com/search/.../sway-bars?SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending others may work, but the pictures are deceiving, that is why you may be concerned. If all else fails look them up yourself. http://www.addco.net/aftermarket/catalog/buick/
I put a Sway bar on my 72 a Stage 1. From 73 Super Duty 1-1/8 I believe biggest one GM made. I fear my car will be to stiff! May hurt Qtr. mile times. oh well.
All ordered now the waiting game I am sending it by sea it's a lot cheaper . But takes 8 weeks to get to New Zealand .
wow, what's the aquatic version of snail mail - sail mail? Good luck with them. I stand by words. Best money ever spent on the Riv. :beers2:
Just how much cheaper? Too often I have pulled the pin on ordering parts from the States due to ridiculous freight prices
