Can anyone identify this? Wanted to know if its worth cleaning up. Good condition for the most part.

    Merry Christmas,
    Mike

Inspection cover, TH400? Not sure if I can tell the difference between it and the THM350 cover.

Like Bob said, it is transmission specific, not car model specific.

AND, it's for a right hand mounted starter like most Buicks.

fits TH400 in Buicks (((non nail-heads))),,, & Chevys ..... starters are the right side of motor . I think caddy has starter on the right also

Pontiac Olds & AMC you got a 50/50 chance.... I cant remember starter location

    Might fit a th350..

That looks like a Buick Turbo 400. They are make specific. Olds used a plastic unit.

Buick Turbo 400 and Turbo 350 had different part numbers. No numbers were stamped on these however. I bet it fits nothing but a Buick. All GM divisions had their own design engines putting starter in different position. It’s geared just as much to engine as it is to transmission. I know Olds starter is on left. I’m tearing apart an Olds now.

I think 1970 was the first year for plastic Olds covers.

The Olds is faster because of the lighter plastic cover.
