What is the difference between a small block steering shaft and BBB? Do you need to change it when you swap a Small block for a big block?

Tim I bet George has this on his site . The BBB shaft has a removeable coupling at the rag joint where the shaft on small block cars are welded I have no idea why this is but I bet it was a assembly issue with the larger engine . This is one of the ways I look to see if a 71 is a BB car . Its not a absolute but most people do not get that part when changing to BB power
