I drive my 71 GMC all the time,..nothing like these trucks,..my fuel tank is still behind the seat,..where it should be!! Haha,..its getting a 4.8 turbo LS swap and short bed conversion here soon
That's a '67 hood ('68 has CHEVROLET on the front). Very common thing to do on them. Personally I like the taller '69-72 hoods.

Got the kids at school to break down a 70 short bed leaf spring truck I picked few months ago,..hope to get it blasted here soon and start building the chassis up,..she is gonna be a brute,..14bolt disc brake rear,..12in front brake upgrade,.4l80 trans,..turbo ls powered,..sitting on c20 springs,...if you've never seen a short bed on c20 springs you're in for a treat!
