Ok guys I have a couple of questions I have a 68 430 with no heads. I am looking for a set to put on their but I have some questions. If I run the 68 heads it will have like 10.25:1 will this combo be ok on pump gas if so what octane. What about other year heads. What are the diffrent CC's between the years. What would be the heads to use. This motor is going in a 67 GS340 that will spend 99.9% of the time on the street. I would like about 350 to 400 horse power with the most torque and broadest torque curve I can get. What intake should I run any cam suggestions. I really need to know about the diffrent heads avaiable and what compression ratio that it will yeild on my set up

    thanks Adam

Depends on the cam, but yes, if you have a cam that closes the intake valve around 69-70 degrees ABDC, you should be able to run 93 octane with 10.25 SCR. Your DCR will be around 8:1.

My compression ratio is 10.13 to 1 and I run 93 octane. Now I did polish the heck out of my combustion chambers and piston tops to eliminate potential hot spots.
