just do it you wont regret it. it might hurt for a month or two but you will have redlines on a black car with red highlights. that would be sick and how many have you seen like that? not many. that would be killer!

I believe it was on the inner fender but it has been so long ago, I'm not sure. It was really a non-issue, it rarely happened and when it did, I just backed off a little. It never happened during normal driving, just during slow, tight parking lot type maneuvers.

It will hit some sway bars, depends on the one you have. I have an old HO Enterprises 1 3/8" bar and it doesn't hit at full lock. Too much back spacing on the wheel can do that as well.

Poised to buy the Coopers 225/70/14 to mount on original Ralley II's on my '68 GTO, replacing Goodyear Eagle ST's, but they're a little short (26.2"), original equipment was 26.8-27.0". The BF Goodrich is also a little short but not as much (26.5"), and an extra $200 for the set to boot. Tempted to upgrade to 15", but the wheel/trim ring set and larger tires would more than triple the expenditure! Decisions!

I think some of the specifications on these tires are wrong. All P225/70R-14 tires should be 26.40" tall. You can calculate the tire height by converting everything to mm, adding it all up and dividing by 25.4mm per inch.

    A 14" rim is 355.6 mm tall. Each sidewall is 70% of 225mm. Each sidewall height is .70 X 225 = 157.5. 2 sidewall heights and rim height = 157.5 + 355.6 + 157.5 = 670.6. 670.6/25.4 = 26.40".

The G60-15, the optional tire on the 70-72 GS was 26.44" tall.

Good info. And also to that same point, when you are comparing different manufacturers using their listed specs, you also have to look at what width wheel they are using. BFG may be calculating using a 7" wide wheel and Cooper may be using a 7.5". That will throw off the overall diameter a little. But Larry is correct, theoretically if they are made to size, they will all be basically the same.

Points taken. Interestingly, the Cooper starts with 11/32" of tread, and BF Goodrich 12/32".

Firestone firehawk Indy 500 are what I roll on. Had them on my 66 Charger also. Great tire. I also have a set with BF Goodrich. The Firestone are letter in and the BF's are white letter out.
