    Good evening all,
I am in need of some information and/or tips on how to ship a Buick skylark hood. It's going to west palm beach, Florida from California. Thanks for and leads or advice on the best way to pack and who to ship with.

Cheapest way might be greyhound bus. Wrap with cardboard and shrinkwrap and say a prayer for it.

Best way would be build a strong crate for it. Price shop fedex, ups, and other ltl shippers..

    Thanks John,
I will look into cost from FedEx and UPS. Will consider building a crate . Hopefully it doesn't add much more weight!

build a CRATE WHERE IT STAND UP ON THE FENDER EDGE AND USE FASTENAL..I SHIPPED 5 IN THE LAST YEAR...ABOUT 1/3 THE COST OF ANYONE ELSE

it has to be enclosed for insurance coverage..ya drop it at a store and they pick it up at the store near them..its opened the whole gamer back up for shipping..its reasonable again

Ditto's on Fastenal, I used them for a hood too, very reasonable.

    Forgot to ask,
How much does a regular 70-72 skylark hood weighs?

    Thanks,
    Larry

Be careful to wrap the two corners. If they can be placed in hard Styrofoam, that would help protect them. They are the most vulnerable parts to get damaged.
