I'm just in the thinking stages of a pump gas motor and was wondering what the "best" factory head would be to use? The motor I'm working with is a 73 and I thought the heads were OK and could use the larger valve but I have also heard of some of the 430 heads being very good to use?

I'd like to get what I can out of the motor while keeping the CR low enough for pump fuel and still keep the budget somewhat reasonable.

Any hints on any newer BBB reading material out there to guide me??

Yes I know, I'm asking a lot!! i just want big power on a shoe string that will run on water!!!

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Stick with your orig heads.
Add a better ignition, aluminum intake and headers.
You will have a low budget street engine that you will love!

Would you suggest a stage 1 valve conversion while they are at the shop??

    Thanks,
