Going to put a set of big port 430 heads and a B4B intake on my 70 SF code 455.
wondering what the best head and intake gaskets would be?

I always use the 1125 felpro head gasket they get a good seal.

I'd use something closer to the original thickness to keep the CR up. Those blues are fat..

that is what I was thinking. I don't want to lose compression.
the 430 heads are converted to stage 1 valves , but I'm not sure if they have been milled

On a 70 block use the steel shim..they still out there..few guys here on the board have them stashed away

Need to dry fit intake to see what it will accept....most likely the steel pan will still work.....gotta retorque it multiple times tho..if you have the one off the engine clean it up and use it

Thats kind of a broad question and really depends on the machine work and spec of your engine block and heads. For my motor, I use the TA Orange Crush .038 head gaskets and TA .032 intake gaskets with a seperate valley pan from AMP.

I understand. just trying to get an idea. Ill probably wait until I get a look at the block once the heads are off .
Engine was rebuilt and Oil modes done but is still standard bore and has not been decked. the 430 head also were redone. they have been milled but I dont know how much,
I just don't want to put too thick a head gasket on and lose compression.
back in my younger days I just put whatever gaskets came in the victor gasket set. felpro later on.
    last time I rebuilt a 455 was 1975! LOL
