Considering a fairly stock 455 stage motor (maybe a hotter cam) what gears would you run for a 4 speed street car. I have drove several stage 1 speed cars over the years with 373 gears or close to it, they seem to flaten out quick. Now, My Dad's 68 GS 4 speed w/stage 455 and tall 2.73 gears seems to pull way harder then the lower geared cars. would like to hear your input. Dennis
It really depends on if the car has a wide ratio or a close ratio. if its the close ratio, I would suggest 3.42 or a 3.55 depending on what rear it has in it
