What is considered the best engine paint that will hold up. Repainted my engine years ago and the red paint just burned off on the heads at the exhaust manifolds. Now that the engine is out of the car, looking for a paint that will hold up. Thanks

I painted the tops of my heads about 4 years ago (~6000 miles) using POR-15 Buick green paint for my '64 401. It has held up well and not burned away so far. It covers well and has a high solids content. It even stuck where cleaning was difficult/questionable with the engine in the car.

The faded/dirty paint at the arrow is older while the paint on the valve cover is fresh...zero hours. They make a "Ford Red" which looks the same as Buick red.

I've used the Duplicator Engine enamel on an engine and had been happy with it. Seemed to hold up well over past few years. Currently painting another with same paint.
