It's the total combination that matters (engine, drivetrain, car weight, etc). What is your current rear end gear ratio? 2.93:1 or 3.42:1? If it's a 2.93:1 non-posi, no sense go too wild on the build-up. Also your car weight....4,200 + lbs?

Stock intake, Quadrajet carb, TA 112 camshaft, ported small valve heads, TA shorty headers?

    Anyone else???

Good luck on making a boattail lighter, what are you going to do tube frame it? Drive around without a hood or bumpers? I'd like to hear if anybody has had any luck making a big buick lighter and by how much, sure you could yank the AC (I did) and make the engine as light a s possible, but the Boats are just plain old too heavy.

if you ran around 12 to 1+ commpression and a stock cam, that would give you the most low end torque.

ok thanks a 12 to 1 compression n stock cam would be good for low torque, but would that be bad for stock heads????????? and another quick question what would be the best method of achieving alot of low end torque? if this has already been answered in the past posts in this thread tell me
