I'm restoring my 71 GS convertible with a front bench seat and need the replacement seat foam and understand it's not availble. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Suggestions? My understanding is Legendary does not supply them either. My current padding is totally wasted. Mike New Jersey 914-393-3302
Mike, I don't think they are reproduced, so you will need to get one from a donor car. Also I am pretty sure the foam cushions were changed for the 71 model year, (Either the frames or cushions were changed.) so you will need a cushion from a 71-72 car and not a 70 or earlier car. Duane
Hmmmm....oh boy.....here you go Duane..... www.nationalpartsdepot.com Page 6 of their Chevelle catalog..... C-SF-112A $208 To me, that is very expensive. I would try donor seat foam from the back seat of a car...less use...less compression set. You can also try a local auto upholstery shop that makes custom "hot rod" seats. They have all kinds of foam and may be able to help you out for a lot less than $208
hey Mike, An old post. I know you have your car together now and was curious on what did you do for new front seat padding? Mine is pretty shot and would like to replace the seat foam Thanks, Mike
I think going with used foam would be the best solution provided it is in good condition.....I may have some...will have to check on it.
